Dare to try to SPEAK

Before you think of anything by reading this and entering the world of the rising motivation, just let me ask you a frightening question: How often do you speak English? If you speak quite often, I appreciate it. If less, why don’t you give it a try? You fear what if people laugh, right?

It is not an exceptional case that many of the people who speak local languages hesitate a lot in speaking English. They lack the dare to learn, to take step, to open a new door. Even I, an ex-student of an English medium school hesitated a lot in speaking English. I tried to improve my fluency in English language but all turned out to be the reason of other people’s laugh. Just imagine, something that could build me up left me embarrassed among my friends. Too complicated to digest! Yes, my mind’s talk was too ridiculous to be accepted and too demoralizing thing.

I sat in regret. I sat in grief. Why, because of others should I be an obstacle in my own path? I started speaking in English. Why delay the good start! Yeah, people did laugh, they did make fun of me. I gave them deaf ears and carried my journey to the mountain-top.

Time brings out the result of every possible thing and I was resulted with English on the tip of my tongue. As if the language just got itself entrapped in the DNA of mine.

We often feel that what we achieve is the ultimate thing. I would ask you that. Is it really the ultimate thing?
My days, flowing as a whistle-stop river were at brisk. I started speaking out quite good English in my class and was being a nonesuch person at my aim. But contrast existed. Some of my friends talked to me in local language and used words which were out of reach of my understanding head (as in energy). “Damn it! You are of English medium school. Our language rocks. ”

I was like, are you kidding me?  It made me feel as if I committed a crime being an English medium student. What a mentality students nowadays have developed regarding the language!

People have a very wrong notion in their minds that speaking a different language other than their local ones is a deed of shame and not worth it. Why such thinking we possess in this so advanced world? Are our minds really advanced? Are we really civilized in this civilized world? Change your thinking. Take a new step. Let people laugh. You live for yourself. You are responsible for building yourself. Do not hesitate. Do not fear being a failure in that. Success is not a big thing; it is just an integration of small failures whose limits lie from “I can’t try it” to “Let me try it”!
