Anti-Competition

Number of people breathe around you, everyone possesses some or the other skill which they are good at. But they get drowned in the jealousy if they see anyone doing better than them.

Dhiraj was an architecture student studying in one of the top universities of the state. Good at his brains, skilled at his artwork, the qualities in Dhiraj completely fitted in the demands of skills required in the field he chose. 1st year of his college was smooth as silk; he passed it with distinction.

College life! Strangers become friends and he too earned the gift by succeeding his step towards 2nd year. His friend circle was a pack of people; each one had a spark within, apart from technical knowledge. One was good at photography, other was good at singing. Everyone was bestowed with gifts. Dhiraj was no different. He had the talent of sketching. He could sketch any portrait, any substance. If he was told to sketch of a city area, he had the talent to copy the picture of that and paste it in canvas by his only weapon, a pencil.

Good or bad, we have to accept that it is human nature, one never gets satisfied by what he/she has. This truth attacked Dhiraj and the aftermath was jealousy. Jealous of his friends. Was the gleed in him good enough? Could the ill-feel winnow him from his friends?

He was totally unaware that he would later have to indemnify on the path he was travelling. Counting less of his blessings, he started counting his flaws. Well, this is not less than common among today’s youth. The seed of jealousy was taking the shape of a tree. His friends earned appraisals from the society. He, busy with his fire of envies did not exhibit his own talent often. He had the opportunity to make his life remunerative but he pulled himself down.

Yeah, competition can build some people but also can destroy other! Gradually, his cordial eyes towards his circle turned to eyes of hostility. It was the time in his life where he needed to realize he was travelling on the wrong side and may meet an accident. The inevitable truth soon hit his doorsteps. He experienced failure in his studies. Moreover, the parasite inside him ate up his talent; when he practiced sketching, he made mistakes that frustrated him which resulted in him tearing his work. What a waste of talent he suffered just because of jealousy and competition!

Many minds today get depressed, leave their field of interest and even commit suicide. They are killed by the competition they face. Students must not take competition that seriously, unfortunately it is our society which stuffs the trash in a student’s mind. ‘Oh look, the neighbor’s son is good at this. The uncle’s daughter is skookum at that’. By this, the person starts feeling low and looks the other person in jealousy, which later yields a bad, really bad result.

One must know that everyone has the spark. Never dull the sparkle in yourself. The society has to understand that people must be appreciated for who they are, not for who they are not. Competition will only help one to be better than others, but it won’t teach any lesson to a person.

Instead, let us keep our eyes straight towards our aim. We know what we are good at. Why not focus on ourselves than on others! Raise yourself. Self-belief is the pair of wings that can lift you up while competition and jealousy are the forces that can push you down. You have to decide on which you need to focus more!

Make an excuse for Success

[Think of an excuse to achieve success by reading this anecdote offline:
]

Have you ever seen an ice berg? Only a part of it seen over the top of water surface whereas the maximum part is submerged below the water level.

Success is something which is visible to maximum people in the outer world but only the one who has achieved it in life knows that the boulevard through which he had travelled was a path of thorns and now a path of roses. People often misunderstand success as an easy thing to achieve. Yes it is undoubtedly an easy thing only if you have your mind clung to your determination. If you feel that if you try for 2-3 times and achieve the pinnacle of white collar job, I think you are sadly mistaken my friend. Rome wasn’t built in a day nor does success.

Deep, a very good friend of mine and my room mate as well, medium heighted guy with heavy brains was a kind of an intellectual person and his French beard gave the gentleman’s spark to his personality. Apart from studies, he had interests in cooking, football and most of all, writing stories that can incentivize people and help them develop moral values.
I used to often sit besides him, just quietly watching what kind of stuffs he write and trust me, no matter how low I feel, I get my blood raging through my body after reading his matter.

He had one big aim in life; to inculcate morality in people which is diminishing day by day. He wrote for others, not for himself. His notions were completely noble and hardly a person is busy-go-weary world of today’s would think to such a level. He often told me, “Ronak, people today are so much busy in increasing their financial status that they forget to feed their moral status. People are nowadays gaining attention by doing immoral stuffs rather than spreading goodness and morality and you know what’s worse? The society finds such things interesting and they give a boost to such people; people with good values are considered to be foolish and mad. Yes, we live in a fact that is like impossible to digest.” His face fell in sadness, his eyes had so much to speak, so much of pain that some people are been guided in wrong way.

“Deep, I have an idea which is worth implementing.” I jumped out of joy and I was confident enough I could help him. “Let me create a blog for you so that people can visit it, and can know your aim, your notions, your goodness towards morphing the society into a better one.” His eyes looked at me in some hope. Always reactive to try something constructive, he jumped, “What are we waiting for then?”

I helped him design a blog where he could put his thoughts into words and make is intentions viral via his blog website.

Being his cicerone, I guided him towards his future website and he paid attention so enthusiastically, like a small kid is looking towards a toy he likes the most. The aftermath was worth my efforts. He started uploading his anecdotes on his blog so people can read and he even gave an option for offline reading by downloading his stories.
He uploaded a few stories and went for the publicity of his website. Yeah, he got a good response but his mind craved for more. He wanted to energize people and create an impact on their mind and gradually, he even touched that star of his improvement. He endeavored so much just for welfare of the society. He would surely go ahead at great pace by doing such a good deed and that is thought to inevitable, doesn’t it? He rubbed his legs quite enough; his blog survived only because of his fixed determination and optimism otherwise it would have been crushed into despair if it was some other person than Deep.

I meanwhile was working on my application project. One can say that I and Deep were sailing in the same boat. We both had positive approach towards the society and we both worked till we sweated blood.

I had tough time in designing the code for the application which was quite a Herculean task for me. The coding was not that easy but I did not give up. Coding was done and application worked quite well except for the GPS tab in it. When clicked on it, the application used to crash. Searched on internet, surfed too many websites but none was of help. So close to my dream yet so far. I almost gave up. But Deep was such an optimist.
He optimized me and vice versa.

But even he was passing through the valleys of struggle. He ran from here to there, from the land to the sky. Everyone showered with so many appreciations and blessings on him but no support from a single person who could take him to the next level on the ladder of well-being.

From teachers to colleagues, from family to friends, he spread his ideas as far as he could. But he found no chain which could pull him up and make himself visible to the world. Deep was so much filled with zeal for his dream that he bunked his classes to take steps to spread his blog. He mailed many newspaper companies, asking to help is notions reach the people. Not just one but he mailed to every company of whose he got the contact but no reply. He spread awareness about his blog in his neighbourhoods but all he achieved was vanity.

Deep even let his ideas fly across the seas so that people can get aware about his blog in abroad too. But I always saw a smile on his face, despite of all this. He often said, “Ronak, we have come this far. I consider it to be completely preposterous if we even think to give up. People find excuses for failure. Let us make excuses for success.” And his words struck me like a thunder that filled me with bright vision and optimism.

Hard work always pays, whether sooner or later. And this was proved in our case. Finally we both got a platform to raise your thoughts and speak out our notions to the world. And I had got the limitation in my application solved for which, I searched in every possible place. Deep had the spark in his eyes, full of hope and willing to bring the transformation and I could think of nothing, but just breathe. Yeah, hope was still alive.

God seemed to shower his blessings upon us. We caught the pace towards our dream. No hindrance was valiant enough to subside our pace. Our hard work and never-give-up attitude help us come out with flying colours in our lives!

Failure is NOT a Failure

[Get inspired even offline, click here:
]

If you get injured on your hand, will you cure it or cut-off your entire hand? You will prefer to cure it, yes of course, but I tell you to cut it off. No? Why? Just because the scar is not a major one that’s why or the hand is much important relative to the small injury?

Failure is an injury on your hand which is to be cured. An injury makes you strong and so does failure. Let the sub fuscous moment of your life build you up, not diminish you.

An incident of quite much consanguinity resembles much to this article. Back in time, young I, studying in engineering college was struck by dalles of hard luck. Hardship in studies was major disaster in my life. To give up on myself was the only thing flowing through my mind. The taunts of people, the curses of fellow mates, the pressure from family carried too much weight for me to carry on my head.
I sat in my room, my mind so numb; I gazed at the wall continuously with no thoughts in my mind. I didn’t know how to indemnify, how to compensate over my loss!

A voice, from nowhere was heard in my soul,
“The moment you feel to give up is the moment you need to give yourself a push.”

The enlightenment in me morphed me to a drastic level and opened my vision of my soul to see the brighter side in my life.

The perception you wear is the virtue which controls your mindset. Failure is not actually a failure, my dear ones. Trust me, a failure is NOT really a failure until you wish to give up. It is not a rock that crushes you down. Instead, lift it up, let it make you stronger. Have an ‘optimistic’ view in everything you face. Even the dark clouds pour down rains that make us feel jolly.

You fail, you learn, you improve, you shine. Make the hindrance a hustle towards your new version which is taller, better, faster, stronger.

Come on, you are the best in yourself. You failed, not a big deal. When plan ‘A’ doesn’t work, you still have 25 alphabets remaining.

Failure, and failure is the vehicle that can make you travel towards the ray of success.
Everyone fail in some or the other matter, you are no exception.
In fact, for me, you are luck-stricken as people who are blessed with failure get to learn something from it rather than from those who do not fail.

Fall down, it is ok. But get up, dust yourself and fly. For the coal under pressure and correct parameters yields you a perfect diamond. Shine like the diamond!
