Become a Masterpiece

It is completely inevitable that every one of us have experienced such a situation where we wish we’d be lucky than the other person.
Every situation becomes so easy to understand when we relate it with a real incident of our lives.
Let me consider an analogy between the described situation and an incident of my life.
Everyone is running like a horse after success. While on a mediocre day when I and my friend were having a cup of coffee, he arose a captivating question against me, “Is a person who achieves success has more knowledge or a person who is facing nothing but failure?”
Seeming quite an obvious question, I spent half a minute after which I answered spontaneously favouring the successful person. He grinned and just nodded his head in denial. And I was like, ‘WHAT!’

His expression quite calm and relaxed and on the contradictory, I was here drowned in confusion and completely bewildered. He answered to my confusion, “When a person becomes successful, there are 90% chances that he will get satisfied with what he has achieved and refuses to proceed further. Even if he does, he would follow the same path.

Consider a failure in place of him who works too hard but success is not even in his sight of vision. If he is passionate about his goal, he will leave no stone unturned to achieve what he deserves and what he wills to. He will find more ways and dig out more tunnels for his way to success which the other person couldn’t. Hence, the failure will get more experience than the successful person. The failure actually wins here.”

I frowned, but completely agreed with what he said. No longer did thoughts start to flood my mind then he added, “We are, to a good extent habitual to criticize our lives. When a person is facing a problem, his basic instinct will surely point out a negative point no matter how good the incident might be. We all have the habit of focusing on the impurity when we are holding a block of gold.

Are we trapped in a situation where we are suffering a lot? Take the best advantage of it. We mull over it, and cry that we are unlucky and etc etc… Instead, why not give a thought that it will give us an experience of a lifetime. It will give us a memory others won’t have. It can help to develop our personality to a great extent.

Failed in an exam? You have an opportunity to study again and achieve virtuosity over it. Darn! You can become one hell of an expert!
Had just faced a break-up? Be placid, cling to self-respect and be euphoric. It is really a dark shade but the upcoming rays are worth the wait.

Got kicked out of a job? Good, in fact, great. The company just lost a chance to work with you while you have so many companies as an option.

All these things, all these perceptions help one to be
unique, to stand apart from the crowd, to get distinguished from the common colours, to build a person into a masterpiece. A masterpiece is not born, he is transformed into one. Just your way to see the world matters, just the way to see your world!”

I was completely spellbound by the charm in his words and the spark in his eyes to achieve something substantial in his life. We wished each other good luck and parted. Just a few moments after we parted our ways, a car passed by me whose one wheel fell in a puddle of mud water and, SPLASH! It took less than a second to turn me into a ‘chocolate’! I had already murdered him a 1000 times in my mind and was just going to open my mouth to shower him with words of insult but my inner subconscious pulled me on a safe side. All my anger flushed down and I smiled at myself. Why should I not smile, I got a class of my anger management all for free! Great, isn’t it? And it was all after which I took a vision towards my life, not just a look!

Can't corruption be ended by corruption?

A race trends in this world; a race for money. Whatsoever place you go, whatsoever work you think to do, money speaks a lot in that. This raises corruption. This raises ill thoughts for money.

Let me explain you by connecting this issue with Prathesh. Coming from a poor family background, Prathesh earns his money for education through a shop where he works along with studying. The shop was the only contribution left by his parents when they left his world long back. He works and studies simultaneously.

Being a student with quite good amount of gray cells, he progresses in his studies and scholarships he earned adds a helping hand to reduce his struggle. Consider his misfortune or an ill fate, his shop crushes down. The shop was the only source through which he earned his bread and that too is now in ruins.

The shop has its insurance. Prathesh wastes not a second in claiming for the insurance from insurance company. He is welcomed in the world of corruption. Aha! He runs from door to door, desk to desk but all he gets is the waste of time and the loss of his energy. He notices a thing that some people throw bundles of money on the desk and they get the work readily. He understands the monopoly. He understands the corruption. He resists digesting the fact that corruption is an inseparable part of the process in order to get any work done.

He proceeds towards the police station to register a complaint. He takes a sigh of relief assuming he would get justice. But his senses gave him the wrong prediction. He smells in the air of corruption. The insurance company bribed the police and thus it led Prathesh all the way in the ocean of despair. Not even the police, who are meant to serve the public, serve him. The system is just too perplexing for him to accept.

What he now thinks is to be a cynosure so that public can be aware of how the system is polluted. He approaches the police station and again gives an attempt to convince the police too politely. Rude response and misuse of power is all that he gains in return. His saturation point is now crossed. He assaults the policeman. His assault quite acceptable is seen quietly by people. The other officers catch hold of him and put him behind the bars.
Too hidebound in his attitude, Prathesh has all the rage against the evil stuff of the society. He gets the bail with the help of his friend.
This doesn’t mean that the volcano in him is now dead. It is still rising. He thinks to leave no stone unturned to eradicate corruption.

He organizes a small campaign to spread awareness about anti-corruption in the society. But it is universal fact that if any person has some pure intentions to spread on the society, there are millions who raise their voices against him as this fact hit him too. He is called upon by the local politicians over there and the police blaming him for setting up a campaign which is worthless and spreading wrong messages against the politicians. What those rebellions receive is an attack from Prathesh. He now enters the trap of no escape. He is again put in jail. This time no bail for him as he also abuses the police verbally. A case is filed against him.

He puts his head in his hands, “Is this all I get for doing something that is right?” he contemplates.

When he is presented in the court, he loses the cases. Well, it is not in his field of awareness but even the judge was bribed. Hell lot of corruption, isn’t it? Prathesh now takes it as the limit of insanity. He realizes that goodness will lead him to nowhere. The matter is now word of a mouth in the society. People pay sympathy for him sitting behind the electronic box but none raised a voice in support of him.
Here, Prathesh is on the verge on giving up. A boy from a poor family, nothing in his backup is fighting against the powerful, rich officers. He sees the path as the path with no end.
He loses everything. Even the bit of hope he had. Where will he go and complain as every person in his eyes was now a corrupt! He gives up. He gives up his future, he gives up his life.
Everyone out there is aware who is at guilt behind all this. The police tries to defend himself saying that he (Prathesh) realized his mistake and due to feeling of guilt, he quitted.
The voice of his noble deed echoed throughout the country. People in various cities organize candle marches. Yeah. This is the cycle. Something wrong happens, people grieve, candle marches are organized, and they gradually forget. Again, there is some news like this within few days. The cycle continues but till when.

There are people who live and get their work done easily by corruption. Those who stand against corruption are suppressed upon by the power of money. Sitting down there on cushion and repenting, feeling sorry is just piffle. The worst part is that the youth who can bring the revolutionary change in the entire nation is going with the flow of corruption. Nothing is going to happen sitting there and just feel sorry. When there is something wrong, we need to speak. I know it is true in our nation that if a man stands alone, he doesn’t stand for much time. We know the fact very well, but if someone dares to stands, it is the duty of the society of people to support him.

We watch many movies which focus on anti-corruption and we give good reviews of those movies saying that it had very good concept but what then?

Even my anecdotes! You all may like it as it carries a message, a goodness. But later, we dump all the goodness we receive from that movie in dustbin. It is to be accepted that we all are corrupt at some or the other level. We all live in the same hell but different levels, dealing with same sin but different devils.

All now left to say is, “Kya yeh corruption kuch le de k khatam nahi ho sakta?

Invest efforts into ‘right’ places

It is quite an obvious thing that we all have faced failure in our lives in spite of working day and night, putting our heart and soul in your task. We wander from here to there where your work can be fruitful be you end up finding yourself useful nowhere. You feel blue; you lose all the faith and hope. Have a moment of contemplation and just think why is it that your efforts are not so up to the mark. Well, this matter perfectly aligns with that of Hriday’s. He is not an intellectual nerd, he is not that techno-freak which students now-a-days tend to be but his talent has the charm and the attraction that can sink anyone in his spellbinding ocean of awe. The beauty and the melody in his voice when he sings make everyone go awestruck.

Now he wants to make the world aware of his talent, so he can prove his mettle. He mustered the courage to take a step to promote this talent of him. He approaches a group of his friends who are promoting their skills and talents by working to start their own business. Hriday gets fascinated and wills to join them, as he sees it as a window of opportunity and a platform to raise himself. He takes no longer to make himself beneficial and sums up with the group. He is on the seventh sky. His happiness and joy was beyond words. He was completely unaware of the gust of limitations he was going to face. Maybe he wouldn’t have faced any if the people of the group were not techno-freaks, but to his misfortune, all are the bugs of technology.

Meetings are held to discuss upon their initiatives and everyone talks about their ideas but Hriday speaks silence as whatever the others are speaking is rocket science to him. What is he supposed to do otherwise? It is the best he can speak, the silence. He faces a bad start. Never mind. He keeps up the hope continuing to sharpen his skills, keeping alive the faith in his endeavours.

Days passed, then weeks and gradually moments, but his fate has not moved even an inch towards the path which can be beneficial to him. He is now in the incunabula of disappointments and despair. But he still fights for himself, working harder and harder. But all he finds in the group are the ideas of seminars on technology and events of various start-ups. Undoubtedly, he regularly represents his talents in front of his group. Claps are quite an obvious thing he frequently gets to hear. Bliss at that moment of him but then, it’s all forgotten.

He starts feeling unwanted. He starts feeling worthless. His talent is completely futile according to him. He expresses his soul out in his songs but all he gets in return are the blind minds that couldn’t see where his talent can make him go. He sits down criticizing everyone in his group. He thinks no one is willing to help him and everyone wants to run after technology and studies. He complains why not also give an opportunity to other stuffs.

Is it actually the blindness of his group members that they cannot see him coming? Or is it the efforts of Hriday which are not up to the mark? Take a moment to think over it before you read ahead……

As a matter of fact, it is the place which is wrong where Hriday has presented his talent. The problem is that the group consists of mainly technology-interested people and just one person works on a track different than that of them. He is not going wrong. He is just treading along a different path. And that is why he doesn’t get response what he actually deserves. This takes no longer to turn his rhapsodic behaviour into despairful attitude.

It is not only the hard work that always counts. If you build up a medical store, it is quite certain it will only be remunerative if you establish it besides a hospital. If you establish anywhere else, like near a temple or a cemetery, no matter how hard you work, your efforts are completely going to be in vain. Before you work, think if the place you are putting your efforts into is suitable for your field of interest or not. Your hard work can never cheat you. It always has the potential to lead you ahead. No talent is ever futile. No talent is small or big. Talent is always great no matter in what field one possesses it.
